Equine viral arteritis (EVA) is an acute, contagious, viral disease of equids caused by the equine arteritis virus (EAV). It is characterized by fever, depression, dependent edema, conjunctivitis, nasal discharge, abortion, and infrequently, death in young foals.
Serological diagnosis of the disease may be performed by virus neutralization or by ELISA. The ELISA technique, unlike virus neutralization, may be used for the analysis of cytotoxic sera, and it is rapid and easy-to-use.
ID VET proposes the ID ScreenŽ Equine Viral Arteritis Indirect ELISA kit, a reliable tool for EVA diagnosis in disease control programs.
